Jim
Andrews, R. Ph. is the Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Services
for Cypress Care, a healthcare services company delivering
integrated solutions to the workers’ compensation and auto
casualty markets. His primary responsibility is to provide overall
direction and guidance to all of the operational and service
activities of Cypress Care’s pharmacy services unit. These
include but are not limited to pharmacy contracting, call center
operations, clinical support, formulary management, regulatory
compliance and industry participation.
For the past 25 years, Andrews has served in an executive level capacity in the pharmacy industry. Prior to coming to Cypress Care, his 15 year tenure with the Eckerd Corporation expanded his management experience in both corporate and field operations. As Senior Director of Pharmacy Systems and Administration for Eckerd Corporation his responsibilities included accountability for pharmacy systems development and support with a primary focus on the utilization of pricing, clinical drug data and managed care claims submission. Mr. Andrews has also worked as a member of the pharmacy operations management team with an increasing scope of responsibilities to include district and regional management.
He is a member of the American Pharmacist Association, National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and National Council of Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). Mr. Andrews is the co-chair of NCPDP's Workers' Compensation (WC) workgroup. Most recently, Andrews was responsible for the oversight of the URAC accreditation committee at Cypress Care; in November of 2009 the company received full accreditation for workers' compensation as well as Property and Casualty pharmacy benefit management.
Mr. Andrews received his pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia and has over 30 years experience in retail chain pharmacy. He began his career employed in pharmacist's positions in chain, independent pharmacy and military organizations and is currently licensed to practice pharmacy in Florida and Georgia. He is a frequent industry speaker and has had several articles published on various pharmacy topics.
